Highlights from the Coronation Big Lunch
Community is more important than ever
The success of the Coronation Big Lunch highlights the value of bringing communities closer together and supporting good causes.
A YouGov poll in April 2023 highlighted a widespread desire to do more in the community.
- More than half of people (54%) want to donate money, food or goods in their community but feel less able to support now than they did a year ago, due to increases in the cost of living.
- Three in four UK adults (78%) believe local charities, volunteers and kindly neighbours play a vital role in supporting people through tough times.
- 80% say the country would struggle to cope without work done by volunteers.
- Six in ten (60%) of us are concerned about the future prospects of our community.
Get involved
The Coronation Big Lunch might be over, but there’s still plenty of ways to get involved! Hold a Big Lunch or get stuck into a community event.
