Triple chocolate gooey brownies
You can’t go wrong with a classic brownie, but why not go a little extra with this triple chocolate version. Irresistible, gooey and perfect to safely share with your neighbours.
- 275g dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids)
- 275g unsalted butter
- 90g milk chocolate, cut into large chunks
- 90g white chocolate, cut into large chunks
- 175g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 325g caster sugar
Preheat the oven to 170C/325F/Gas3. Lightly butter a 30x20x3.5cm/12x8x1½in tin and line with greaseproof paper or foil.
Pop the plain chocolate and butter in a heatproof, large bowl and place over a pan of simmering water. Allow it to melt.
Sieve the flour and baking powder into a bowl and set aside.
Remove the melted chocolate and butter mixture from the heat and stir in the caster sugar. Add the lightly beaten eggs and vanilla extract. Next, fold in the flour and chocolate.
Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared cake tin and place in the oven to bake for 20-25 minutes. The top should be firm but the inside should feel soft when cooked.
Allow to cool in the tin, and once ready, remove the brownies from the tin and cut into squares.
