Chocolate tiffin squares
A quick and easy chocolatey treat that’s guaranteed to get your taste buds tingling! This chocolate tiffin recipe is simple yet scrumptious that you can make for all the family — or wrap 3–4 slices individually with a bit of ribbon and gift the bundles away to spread some chocolate cheer!
Ingredients
- 200g unsalted butter (cut up in pieces)
- 1 tbsp golden syrup
- 250g chocolate
- 250g biscuits (plain/tea/digestive/oaten style — or a mix to finish off half-eaten packets)
- 25g nuts (chopped)
- 50g raisins
Method
Step 1
In a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water, melt butter and chocolate with syrup.
Step 2
Crush the biscuits into crumbs by placing in a freezer bag and pressing with a rolling pin. It helps to assist the process by scrunching the bagful with your hands first.
Step 3
When the chocolate mix is melted, add remaining ingredients and stir together to mix thoroughly.
Step 4
Place in an 8″ square cake tin, lined with clingfilm or reusable wrap and leave to set in a cool place.
Step 5
To serve the chocolate tiffin, cut into squares when set. If the mixture makes too much for the tin, you can successfully pile the mix into cupcake cases too!
