Terms and Conditions: The Big Lunch Recipe Search!

Introduction

By participating in The Big Lunch Recipe Search run by Eden Project Ltd you are agreeing to the terms and conditions.

Eligibility to Enter

The Big Lunch Recipe Search is open to submissions from persons over 18 years of age. If a person is under the age of 18 their entry must be submitted on their behalf and supported by a parent or guardian giving their full consent. All entrants must be resident in the UK.

The recipe search is open to participants of all ages and skill levels.

Eden Project employees and associates are not eligible to enter.

By entering The Big Lunch Recipe Search, the entrant confirms that the they are eligible to do so and that they are eligible to receive any rewards associated with the search.

There is a limit of one entry per person and the recipe search is completely free to enter and no purchase is necessary.

The Recipe Rewards

Ten recipes will be chosen as finalists and the cooks behind them will:

Have their recipe featured in the online Big Lunch cook book
Receive a Gift Voucher to support their Big Lunch event
Receive a certificate in recognition of their entry

Five of these ten finalists will also:

Be invited to join an exclusive Big Lunch in London, where you’ll have the chance to share your dish, meet other finalists and rub shoulders with special guests.
Receive a food sharing inspired hamper for your own Big Lunch

Be featured as the ‘Star Dish’ in The Big Lunch Recipe Search.

The use of specific brands within rewards associated with the recipe search by Eden Project does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of such brands.

The award is non-transferable and non-exchangeable, and no cash alternatives will be provided.

We reserve the right to substitute rewards of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control require doing so.

Eden Project decisions on any aspect of the recipe search is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

How to enter

Submissions must enter full recipe details, including instructions, ingredient quantities, how many the recipe caters for and one or more photographed images of the dish.
Entrants must complete all fields in the form and upload the images.
Automated or incomplete entries will not be accepted.
Shortlisted recipe submissions will be required to take part in a research call either over the phone or video [Zoom or Teams] so that judges can access whether the recipe submission meets judging criteria.
Submissions must be original and not copied from other sources.
The finalists will be notified via email and phone call, announced publicly through our website and social media channels and to media in a press release.
All participants agree to allow their submitted recipes and images to be used in all and any Eden Project, The Big Lunch and The Big Lunch funding or partner related promotional materials, including The Big Lunch online Cookbook.

Important Dates:

The Recipe search will close at 23:00 on Friday 9 May 2025. Eden Project reserves the right to extend this deadline if deemed necessary.

Submission Deadline: Submissions must be received by 23:00 9 May
Judging Period: From 10 May to 16 May.
Top recipes announced: by 23 May via website and email.
Finalist Big Lunch in London: Est date 4 June

Winner Selection

Applications close on 23:00 on Friday 9 May when entries will be sifted and shortlisted, with a final judging panel making decisions made up of senior representatives from Eden Project and our associates.

The winner and finalists will be announced by Friday 23 May and hampers will be delivered ahead of The Big Lunch on 7-8 June 2025.

Eden Project will make three attempts to contact the winners via the details provided.

If after three attempts to contact, a winner has not responded, they forfeit their right to the reward, and Eden Project reserves the right to select and notify a new winner.

The selection by judging panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Delivery of the Award

Different elements of the rewards may be delivered separately.

The Big Lunch weekend is 7-8 June 2025. Support to hold a Big Lunch to celebrate the recipe submissions with entrants’ communities will be focused around this weekend only.

Data Protection and Publicity

You agree that any personal information that you provide when entering the competition will be used by Eden Project LTD for the purposes of administering the competition and for the other purposes as specified in our Privacy Policy.

All entrants may request the name of the winning community by emailing communities@edenproject.com.

The top recipes will be announced on Eden Project Communities website and all our associated social media channels. All finalists may also be announced through press media, with a photocall and press release. By entering, the nominator agrees that they and / or other community members featured sharing The Big Lunch Recipe Search dish or dishes will participate in media interviews, photography and broadcast moments as required.

Limitation of Liability

Eden Project Ltd accepts no liability for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by any entrants as a result of participating in the recipe search or being selected for a reward.

General

Eden Project Ltd reserves the right, at any time and without prior notice, to cancel The Big Lunch Recipe Search or to change or adapt the rewards.

Eden Project reserves the right to cancel events due to any and all unforeseen circumstances.
