What a year it's been! This year’s Big Lunch was the biggest yet – with over 17 million people taking part across the UK – and we’re expecting equally impressive stats expected for the Month of Community (more on that soon!).
We've had lots of change and sadly said good bye to our lovely Sophie Bridger – Country Manager for Scotland – who has taken up a new and exciting role with Chest heart and Stroke Scotland. We were gutted to lose her but wish her the best.
Joining forces with Scotland
Grainne McCloskey, who has been working with us in Northern Ireland for over ten years, has taken up the challenge of becoming Scotland and Northern Ireland regional manager. Here’s the team enjoying a planning day in the beautiful Glens of Antrim - where they could see Campbell town clearly across the sea.
As part of this new approach, we are recruiting a Scotland-based person to lead on strengthening our relationships in Scotland and we will offer more opportunities for our Northern Ireland and Scotland network to connect and learn from each other.
Martin Quigley continues as Scotland Community Network Developer and Kathy Black as Northern Ireland Community Network Developer.
Apply for Eden Community Camp
Applications for our in person and virtual Community Camps are open for 2022-23! Community-minded people with ideas you want to make happen in Northern Ireland are invited to apply now.
Thanks to National Lottery funding and support from our sponsors we are offering six places on our September camp at the Eden Project Cornwall and have virtual camp places coming up in November. Camp is just the start of a journey as part of a peer to peer network who share and support each other from various geographic areas of Northern Ireland and the UK.
Healthy Oceans Healthy Minds
This August, Eden Communities NI are joining forces with Live Here Love Here to kick start the Healthy Oceans Healthy Minds which takes place between 20 and 31 August 2022. The aim of the campaign is to reconnect people to our seas, waterways and blue spaces, to show the impact that a healthy marine environment can have on our health and wellbeing.
Eden Project Communities will bring together the community the opportunity to come together in August for a mindfulness walk with litterpick & community activity.
