Everyone’s invited to take part in The Big Virtual Lunch, which is why we’ve put together a jam-packed weekend with lots of activities for you to join. Choose one or choose them all – it’s up to you. 

We’ll be sharing further details joining information and closer to the time so keep an eye on our social media channels and see TheBigLunch.com for updates too. 

Saturday 6 June

9.00 - Make decorations with Mo and get party ready with this Facebook Live session, @edencommunities

Craft recycled flowers with things from around the home with Mo, our very own Scotland team member.  Want to give your Big Virtual Lunch a bit of flair? These flowers can be turned into garlands or bunting. Download the templates here. No registration necessary.

11.00 - Cooking and conversation with Manon Lagreve - join our Watch Party on Facebook, @edencommunities

Build up your appetite and get ready for The Big Virtual Lunch with Manon Lagreve. She'll be making a Strawberry French Cake, so if you want to cook along with Manon, here are the ingredients you will need. No registration necessary.

12.00 - Join us for The Big Virtual Lunch Hour - REGISTER

Grab your favourite sandwich (or whatever you fancy) and join us for a lunchtime natter and a bit of fun. The Big Lunch is the UK’s thanksgiving weekend for neighbours and communities, and now more than ever we need to make time for each other, so join in as we get the nation talking over a cuppa and a bite to eat.

15.00 - Pop the kettle on for a National Tea Break with PG tips - REGISTER

Make a brew and grab a biscuit or two as we settle in for the National Tea Break. We'll be saying 'cheers to volunteers' and having a cosy chat with Psychotherapist Lucy Beresford about the benefits of community participation and connection.

18.00 - Mix it up, happy half hour - REGISTER

Put your dancing shoes on and shake up a mocktail for our Saturday night gathering with a special appearance from Presenter and TV Personality, Saira Khan.

23.00 - Stay up late with a Lunar Lunch for night owls - REGISTER

Join us after sundown as we sit back and watch the stars for The Lunar Lunch. We want everyone to be able to enjoy a Big Lunch so if you are a natural night owl, juggling a busy life, or working nights and can’t join us in the daytime, the Lunar Lunch is for you!

Sunday 7 June

9.00 - Settle in for Story Time - REGISTER

Ease into Sunday morning with story time where we'll share 'The World has Turned Upside Down' a lovely book written by Kes Gray, illustrated by Chloe Batchelor, and read by Jon Snow, to support autistic children and their families during lockdown.  We'll also be reading a story about food and kindness so get cosy and settle in.

10.00 - Baking with Alana Spencer - join our Watch Party on Facebook, @edencommunities

Build up your appetite and get ready for The Big Virtual Lunch with Alana Spencer. Alana Spencer, owner of Ridiculously Rich by Alana and winner of The Apprentice 2016, has grown her business from baking in her parent’s country kitchen, to producing all her handmade selections in her own full scale bakery in her hometown of Aberystwyth. Alana has shared the recipe with us here
