England & Wales national networking gathering - 12 and 13 October

We can’t wait to bring people from across our two nations together in a few weeks’ time for a fab weekend of sharing and connecting. Unfortunately, places are now full, but if you’d like to be put on the waiting list to join then get in touch with Sam directly

Online Workshop

Making your project inter-generational - 22 October 6-8pm, 23 October 12-2pm

Join Eden Project Communities and community-minded people from across the UK in a free online workshop about how to make your project or events inter-generational, rather than simply multi-generational.

You'll be invited to share your experience, and have the chance to talk with and learn from others who are in the same boat. If you've not joined one of our online workshops before, they are really easy and relaxed, all are welcome! We will be running the workshop twice, an evening and a lunchtime, to make it as accessible as possible to all. You can register here!

Re-wilding and your community, with Grow Wild - 15 October

For our next get together in Powys, we’re teaming up with Grow Wild to bring some fascinating training themed around re-wilding nature and how communities can be part of it. If you are interested in coming along, please contact Sam on for more information.

Let's celebrate! - 28 November

Save the date for our next get together in Cardiff. As the year comes to an end, we’ll be coming together to celebrate and share some success stories from local communities. Details to follow soon, but for more information, contact Sam on

Conference season!

Sam and Lowri, aka Team Wales, are busy at this time of year spreading the word about the impact ordinary people can have in their communities, whether that’s through voluntary projects, events, or The Big Lunch in the summer. If you have an upcoming event that you think would benefit learning about The Big Lunch and our network, and would like a speaker, get in touch with Lowri

Spaces available for Community Camp

Community Camps are residential experiences full of workshops, practical resources and networking opportunities hosted at the Eden Project in Cornwall.

Applications are still open for our November community camp, so if you want to start up a project in your community, or are already doing something and want to take the next step, then it could be a fantastic opportunity for you. For more information, and to apply click here.

330,000 seedballs given out at Iceland stores

Children and families across the UK are planting up to 15 million wildflower seeds as part of the Backyard Nature campaign. They are responding to a call from Semble, the organisation leading the campaign, to save the bees where they live. To help communities on their mission, the organisation gave away 330,000 wildflower seedballs in mid-September via Iceland and The Food Warehouse stores. Semble, which is the UK’s leading organisation for grassroots community projects, launched Backyard Nature back in July.

Children and families who didn’t manage to get their hands on free seedballs can still get involved by signing up to be Backyard Nature Guardians on the website and using the free resources to help them make their own seedballs.
