Chocolate tiffin squares
Ingredients:
- 200g unsalted butter (cut up in pieces)
- 1 tbsp golden syrup
- 250g chocolate
- 250g biscuits (plain/tea/digestive/oaten style — or a mix to finish off half-eaten packets)
- 25g nuts (chopped)
- 50g raisins
Method:
In a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water, melt butter and chocolate with syrup.

Crush the biscuits into crumbs by placing in a freezer bag and pressing with a rolling pin. It helps to assist the process by scrunching the bagful with your hands first.

When the chocolate mix is melted, add remaining ingredients and stir together to mix thoroughly.

Place in an 8" square cake tin, lined with Clingfilm and leave to set in a cool place. Cut in portions when set.
To serve, cut into portions when set. If the mixture makes too much for the tin, you can successfully pile the mix into cupcake cases and leave to set.
These tiffins are a simple yet scrumptious treat that you can make for all the family — or wrap 3–4 slices individually with a bit of ribbon and gift the bundles away to spread some chocolate cheer!
