How can charities can get involved in The Big Lunch?

Getting involved in The Big Lunch is easy as pie. We've put together a few ways in which you can hold a Big Lunch and how you can encourage others to join you.

1. Host a Big Lunch

Holding your own Big Lunch will provide a friendly space for your staff, customers, volunteers and supporters to come together and get to know each other. Whether that’s at your charity shop, office (or perhaps in a nearby open space) or a Big Virtual Lunch online, we have plenty of information and resources to help you plan a great event.

2. Ask volunteers and staff to hold a Big Lunch to fundraise for your cause

Asking your volunteers and staff to hold a Big Lunch in their neighbourhood or community could be a perfect opportunity for them to spread the word about the work that the charity does, and to do a bit of fundraising. You can encourage them to put up posters in their local area and give out invitations. It's amazing what you can achieve when a group of people get together and what better excuse than an opportunity to raise money for a cause that matters to them over tea and cake.

3. Hold a Big Lunch to say thank you to your volunteers

Everyone likes to feel appreciated, so why not say a BIG thank you to your volunteers by getting them together for a Big Lunch? The Big Lunch weekend is 5-6 June this year, so it falls perfectly at the end of Volunteers' Week - 1-7 June 2021, which is a chance to celebrate and say thank you for the fantastic contribution volunteers make.

4. Hold a Big Lunch to recruit new volunteers

You can even use your Big Lunch to recruit new volunteers.  Ask other volunteers to join you and chat about their experience of volunteering over a bite to eat to encourage new people to get involved.

If this sounds like something that your charity would like to be a apart of, there's still time to sign up for your Big Lunch pack and start planning!
