The Great Big Walk is an Eden Project idea made possible by the National Lottery with the purpose of shining a light on ordinary folk going the extra mile to bring people in their community together, while walking up an appetite for The Big Lunch.

The Great Big Walk Cornwall team with ramblers.

Last year 15 walkers covered over 1400 miles on foot between 29 May and 18 June, meeting with passionate people who do incredible work in their communities. Read all about the highlights, you're sure to get inspired.

This year we plan on recruiting more brave walkers from the UK's four nations who are up for the challenge and excitement of connecting communities and highlighting the extraordinary things that ordinary people are doing where they live and in doing so, inspire others to get involved. The walk will begin in May and culminate in The Big Lunch celebrations on 3 June.

In 2018 The Great Big Walk will be happening during National Walking Month and so everyone is encouraged to put on their walking boots, and join in the fun!
