To celebrate HM The Queen’s 70 year reign, there is a special four-day Bank Holiday Weekend planned, from Thursday 2 June to Sunday 5 June.

Buckingham Palace has announced an exciting programme of events for the extra-long weekend and together we are once again inviting communities across the UK to come together for ‘The Big Jubilee Lunch’ on Sunday 5 June 2022.

Following the success of the first Big Jubilee Lunch, to celebrate HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, we are looking forward to another extra special year with lots of reasons to get together and celebrate. As always, we will be encouraging safe events of all shapes and sizes to take place in whatever way works best for you and your community.

You could get together to watch the Platinum Pageant, which is also taking place on Sunday 5 June and promises to be a spectacular parade, combining street arts, theatre, music, circus, carnival and costume. Or even host your very own parade to show off local talents!

Whether it’s sharing a cuppa with a neighbour on the doorstep or over the fence or a bigger bash in the street or nearby park, the 14th annual Big Lunch is sure to be a cracker, bringing millions together for some community, friendship and fun.

There is an exciting programme of public events planned for the Platinum Jubilee weekend, including the traditional Trooping of the Colour for The Queen’s Official Birthday and the lighting of thousands of beacons across the UK – both on Thursday 2 June - and a world-class concert from the BBC on Saturday 4 June.

More details on the full public programme are expected in the months ahead, but for now, be sure to pop 2-5 June 2022 in your diary and get set to join millions across the UK for The Big Jubilee Lunch!
